Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Two-Cent Pieces and Nickel Three-Cent Pieces Dansco Album comes in a 5/8" binder and holds up to 33 coins. The album has 2 Dansco pages (series: 6108-1 to 6108-2), each one holding and displaying all U.S. two-cent pieces and U.S. nickel three-cent pieces minted from 1864-1889. Two-cent pieces were the first American coins issued with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. These coins have also one of the shortest Mint productions from 1864-1873. Two-cent pieces are made of 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc. They are 23 mm in diameter, and each weighs 6.22 grams. The nickel three-cent pieces were issued as a replacement of the silver three-cent pieces that disappeared from circulation after a shortage of silver during the Civil War. Nickel three-cent pieces are made of 75% copper and 25% nickel. They are 17.9 mm in diameter, and each weighs 1.94 grams. Both two-cent pieces and nickel three-cent pieces were coined at the Philadelphia Mint. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
