Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Liberty Nickel 1883-1912 Dansco Album comes in a 5/8" binder and holds up to 70 coins. The album has 2 Dansco pages (series: 7111-1 to 7111-2), each one holding and displaying all Liberty nickels minted from 1883-1912. This series includes the famed 1913 Liberty Head nickel, which takes a top spot as one of the most valuable coins on the market. In 2007 one such Liberty Head sold for $5 million in a private transaction. Only five 1913 Liberty nickel coins were known to be minted. Therefore, it is not surprising this album doesn't have a 1913 slot. Liberty nickels are made of 75%copper and 25% nickel. They measure 21.2 mm in diameter, each weighing 5 grams. Liberty nickels were minted at the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
