Dansco Coin Albums have been a longtime companion for both expert numismatists and beginning coin collectors. The Washington Quarters 1932-1998 Dansco Album comes in a 1 1/8" binder and holds up to 168 coins. The album has 7 Dansco pages (series: 8140-1 to 8140-3, 7140-1 to 7140-7), each one holding and displaying all Washington quarters minted from 1932-1998. The 1932 Washington Quarter was created to commemorate George Washington's 200th birthday. In 1976 the Treasury launched a contest to select a new reverse for the Bicentennial Quarter. The winning design was by Jack L. Arh. Except for the dating "1776-1976" the obverse of the coins remained unchanged through their entire mintage. In 1977 the Washington quarters went back to their original reverse design. From 1932-1964 quarters were made of 90% silver and 10% copper, each weighing 6.25 grams. From 1965 to Date quarters have a pure copper inner core and an outer layer made of 75% copper and 25% nickel, each weighing 5.67 grams. All Washington quarters measure 24.3 mm in diameter. Dansco Coin Albums have their pages attached with metal screws, making it easy to add and replace.
